Connie Reider is an accomplished professional photographer with portrait studios in both Bethesda and Annapolis, Maryland. For more than 25 years, she has been using her camera to express her personal vision of the world around her. Never was this gift more cherished than in 1995, when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Connie used her camera and her journal to document her journey. She discovered that the cancer experience had a profoundly positive effect on her life which she expressed in her book, IN SHADOW and LIGHT...LOOKING for the GIFTS of CANCER.
In 2004, Connie co-founded The F. Holland Day Center for Healing and Creativity in Maine. For the past several years, she has led the creative program of these week long healing retreats for women with cancer. This year, she launched a new program called INscape, The Healing Art of Photography. In this distinctive 2 day workshop, participants use photography and writing to focus INward to INvestigate their INsights into their cancer journey in both its shadow and its light. Connie also leads international photo-journeys where participants can open their visual eye along with their spiritual soul to find inspiration, spontaneity, and emotion in people and in places.
